In my portraits, I come close — not only literally with my lens, but also as a person. Before the shutter clicks, we make contact. A portrait is about how – in that moment – you see yourself and how you want to be seen or what you want to show to someone else, combined with how I see you and what I want to reveal of that. That ephemeral connection — about who you are and who I see — is what I try to capture in an image, in which you will hopefully see yourself through someone else’s eyes.
